Our Professors

ZENA YASKIW graduated from the Lysenko Conservatory of Music in Lviv, Ukraine as a Master of Arts in Piano Pedagogy, Collaborative Piano and Accompaniment and went on to work at the Kos-Anatolsky School of Music specializing in piano instruction for students between the ages of 5 and 15, some of whom received awards at regional competitions.  During her 20-years tenure there, she was an active solo and chamber ensemble performer, as well as a teaching researcher of Ukrainian composers. She followed with an eleven-year teaching position at the European Piano School at Boston Organ and Piano in Natick, Massachusetts before co-founding Allegretto Piano Studio. Many of Zena’s students have taken the Trinity College London music examinations (in practical skills and theory) and have accomplished great results. 


NATALIYA TKACHENKO graduated from Kharkov College, Ukraine as a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance, and later from the Kharkov Institute of the Arts as a Master of Arts in Piano Performance and Accompaniment.  In addition to over 20 years of experience teaching at all levels and a registration with the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in London, she has been an active solo and chamber ensemble performer in Ukraine, the UK, the US and across Africa, an accompanist at the Boston Ballet School, and is a three-time first prize winner in the former USSR.  Her students have gone on to music scholarships at the prestigious Wycombe Abbey School and Eton College in the U.K. She worked at the European Piano school at Boston Organ and Piano in Natick, Massachusetts before co-founding Allegretto Piano Studio. Many of Nataliya’s students have participated in competitions hosted by the Talented Young Musicians Association (TYMA) and have won first place, qualifying them take part in the organization's special annual exhibition performance in Carnegie Hall, in NYC.
